Mound View State Trail

Mound View Trail

This scenic 7-mile paved trail in southwest Wisconsin connects the communities of Belmont and Platteville.  Enjoy traveling the gently-rolling hills along charming streams and through the open countryside where two large mounds rise above farm fields on the north side of the trail. The  Mound View State Trail runs parallel towards Platteville under Highway 151.  This is a non-motorized trail and connects to the Pecatonica State Trail System in Belmont.

The world's largest 'M' easily identifies Platte Mound which is about midway between the two communities.  Closer to Belmont, the Belmont Mound State Park features wooded trails and beautiful rock formations.

Each bicyclist or skater age 16 or older needs a Wisconsin state trail pass to use the Mound View State Trail.
