Ken Leahy Memorial Park

Ken Leahy Stone

Ken Leahy Memorial Park lies at the south end of the Village of Belmont’s main corridor, South Mound Avenue. This park would be considered the Village’s most historic park and is the home of the Village’s full operational Water Tower.  You can visit this park with your family & friends to enjoy a lot of activities and fun. It is a centrally located park within the Village where you can go to take pleasure in relaxation and comfort. The park has a lot to offer. Tennis court, basketball court, pickle ball court, and a modern playground structure are the recreational activities where your kids and teenagers would love to go.

Ken Leahy Memorial Park also offers one reservable Park Shelter.  The Park Shelter Rental includes picnic tables, grill, restrooms, and electricity.  The current rental fee for renting the Leahy Park Shelter is $30 per day for village residents or $50 per day fee for non-village residents.

Ken Leahy Memorial Park is also the home to a Time Capsule which was put in place in 1978 by the Senior graduating class of Belmont High School.  This time capsule was put in place and is to be opened in 2078 which is 100 years from when it was placed with a dedicated landmark for all to see. There is also a dedicated landmark stone honoring the memory of the late Ken Leahy.  Ken serviced on the Belmont Village Board for 31 years and held the position of Village President for 26 years.  We are honoring Ken’s love and dedication to the Village of Belmont and all the endless hours that he committed to our community.
